Day 7: 208 Miles
Portland Or. | Pendleton Or.

After a few days romping around Portland with my family, it is time to get back on the road. I had hoped to leave Portland yesterday after the racetrack, unfortunately BMW held me up, so I ended up a day behind. I was due for a new set of tires and brakes, plus a fluid check to make sure I make it through the rest of the ride.

Todays ride was very scenic. I anticipate the next week of rides will be incredible. I left Portland headed East on Hwy 84. This route goes along the Columbia River. The river is huge and known to be incredible sturgeon fishing. It was tough not to book a guide for the day and catch some sturgeon merely for bragging rights with my friend James.
The ride was just over 200 miles and was pretty easy. My destination was Pendleton Oregon, home of the Pendleton roundup. The roundup is one of the largest rodeos in the country and this town has the cowboy vibe to prove it.
I am still convinced he is dodging the law, but in a strange course of events I was able to find my pal Thor Brause tending bar in Pendleton. He is working at a beautiful western themed bar in downtown Pendleton called Cimmyettis (sp?) The restaurant is beautiful. The owner Jennifer, a friend of Thor’s from California put me up for the night and took great care of me at the Restaurant. Thanks!

Thor also took great care of me and toured me around town. Pendleton is famous logo called the Let Er Buck Guy. They just put a sculpture of the Let Er Buck Guy downtown, we had to take advantage of the photo op.
Awesome town. I may have to come back for the rodeo in September.
