Day 2: 270 Miles | Winters to Etna

Today was hot…really hot. I am not looking forward to Vegas or Death Valley in a few weeks. I stayed in the leather today, but am sure I will be in a Tshirt when I hit the desert.

I left Winters this morning after having coffee with the family. Dad and Jamieson were around to see me off, Mom snuck out early since she couldn’t handle seeing the motorcycle actually move. My goal today was to make it to Grandma’s house in Etna, Ca.
I am learning that my current riding tolerance is only about 200 miles. While I can do considerably more, 200 miles in a shot starts to make me sore. The last 70 miles today was a little rough. I wanted off the bike, but figure I need the conditioning for the Montana - Vegas leg.

I made it to Grandma’s at about 5pm. It is really nice to see her, has been over a year. We headed into town for dinner at The Etna Brewery then hung out for another hour or so. Tonight I need to sit up and try to figure out how to use my new video cameras.
